Got Intrigued

The yound teenager quickly turned the page.. to read back what he had and hadn't read for years.

And as silent as the boy became, as silent will the 'story wrapper' become. From now on it will be the story of Nocrone as the intrigued teenager read it:

Just A Fly

From a tiny little fly's perspective we enter into the daily business of The Cave, one of the bars in a Human village. The smell of alchohol and flesh and smoke makes our little fly barely able to breathe. The sounds of laughter, rough talk and consuming fill the entire bar. There is some music band as well, although not appreciated by everyone. While playing their songs, the musicians have to avoid all coming at them, bottles.. meat, knives.. almost everything the attendees can get their hands on. Including, other attendees. Between now and then the entire bar explodes and everybody starts punching, kicking.. No one will leave unscarred, though few fights end up lethal.. most of them with more drinking, more eating. Upstairs and downstairs 'the pretty ladies' give the attendees a good time, though they can handle themselves with too rough attendees. In the World of Nocrone everybody has to learn to fight for themselves, even against their own people.

Our little fly flies towards one of the tables on the bar's floor. That was a bad move.. since at that table seats the crew of the Wolf Clan, the ruling clan of the village. The crew of the Wolf Clan has a hobby, as practice, they try to hit the many flies in the bar with their daggers. Never do they miss, including this time. With our fly stuck on the dagger of a Wolf Clan member, our story could've ended here. Luckily for us and the story.. it wasn't us.. it was just a fly. But you can see how quickly one's adventure in this world can make the wrong turn.

Since the member of the Wolf Clan ended our fly-by story, the story will continue from his perspective. The Man's name is Urgok Wolf. Not the best name chosen by his parents, but as one could see with the fly, Urgok is happy enough his name still 'goes around'. He spends most of the time with his crew in one of the bars of the village. And usually he goes upstairs with one of 'the pretty ladies', just like this time. Preparing for a good time, Urgok follows the lady to her room. Some intense private moments follow, Urgok pays the lady in the end and leaves.

So, Urgok is as happy as can be.. until he's asking the barkeeper for another rum. He's grabbing his bag of coins to pay the barkeeper, but all he feels is his empty pocket.

What? Urgok responds shocked and surprised.

The girl! He shouts filled with anger.

It doesn't take long for the Wolf Clan member to stand inside the room of the lady, with his dagger drawn. With the door kicked-in and ready to kill, Urgok finds an empty room. An opened window gives the Man all the hints he need. At the window Urgok looks at an empty side-road. The lady is gone, with his silver coins.

With many foul words the Wolf Clan member tells his crew to search the lady in all haste.
