Standing there for a while, the group, including Forgon, tried to make up their mind. What were they actually looking at.. they themselves weren't so sure. A chamber in a cave, high in the mountains, a floor filled with skeleton bones and a book in the middle.. what does it all mean?
So this book, is going to save us? One of the Men said, clearly having some doubts.
The other Men sort of went along with that sceptic point of view.
How is this book going to save us from the Orcish Hordes? The Man asked Forgon.
I don't know. Forgon answered. All I know is, that we got the order to get this book.
So, magic.. This magic.. how does it actually work? I'm kinda curious. One of the Men thought out loud.
Yes. It would be fun to magically raise some pretty ladies. Wouldn't it? Another one added laughing.
That point got all of the group excited about magic. Standing around the scrolls on the rocky table, the Men studied the text.
Arise!
There, I said it. And nothing happens. One of the Men said laughing, joking around about the old dusty scrolls.
No, no. You're doing it wrong. Forgon said. It says.. Hold a bone in your hand, hold it above your head and say: Arise!
Well, alright. Let's do it. Just to see what happens. Another Man suggested.
Something, something in Forgon's head made him shake his head.
I.. I don't think we should do that.
Why not. You will see that nothing happens. All those magic rumours are just bedtime stories for children, fairy tales. You don't really believe in that stuff do you?
Forgon stepped away from the table, not responding to the tempting words.
See. Do you see anything happening yet?
The group leader saw how the man speaking the words, was holding up some random bone. Shaking his head, having bad feelings about what's happening in front of him, he stared at what was going on. Though, he himself had no idea why he had the bad feelings, or why he was shaking his head.. he himself was very sceptic about the magic rumours.
No, no.. you doing it wrong, like Forgon said. You need to say arise. One Man added laughing along with the rest.
Arise.
As sceptic as he was, Forgon got shivers all over his body, as the man with the bone in his hand, spoke the word.
See! Nothing happens! Nothing! Arise. Arise. Arise. Arise. Arise!
As the Man with the bone in his hand shouted the magic word, laughing.. death frightening sounds filled the chamber. All of a sudden, the piles of skeletons in the room, arose. In that short moment, Forgon understood more than he wished to. His bad feelings, were grounded.
The risen Skeletons didn't waste any time to attack the stunned, shocked, horrified, totally surprised group of Men. Most of the group fell, before their mind had even caught up. Just two of all of the Men, had their swords out in-time. They fought against a chamber filled with Skeletons. Bones were shattered. Three Skeletons met their end at the hands of the fighting Men. Though the remaining Skeletons overwhelmed the two Men. The group of Men, the group of Horsemen, had learned a lesson about magic in the World of Nocrone. Though they learned it, too late.. The Skeletons sounded through the chamber, through the cave and way into the distance. It made the horses of the Horsemen, flee out of fear.
